We were standing on a lookout on the top of a very old pump house that overlooks Window on the Waterfront. This Great Blue Heron flew in slightly to our right. It was 20 feet away and we were higher than it. After watching it catch the Bluegill, it turned in the opposite direction and walked back to where it had flown in proudly showing us what it had speared.
We watched the entire process from it stalking its prey to the swallowing of it.
